How to Make Natural Handy Wipes

Like us on Facebook for more tips.

For at least 13 years, I have been making natural handy wipes and I love them. They are great to have around the house, bring in the car for trips (Short or Long), or keep some in a zip-lock bag in my purse.
Below are the recipes of the different kinds of Natural wipes that I make. I really like using them because they save us money and I  know that they are safe for my children to use.
Handy Wipes
  • These are great for any kind of wipe-ups anywhere.
  • These are great for wiping kids hands and feet. My daughter keeps them by her back door so when the little ones come in from playing outside they could cleanup as they come back into the house. I think I am going to do this also.
  • When we go on outings and trips, I bring the whole container into the van.
1/2 roll of White Bounty Big Roll paper towels: (I like to use the Select-a-size type. They last longer. Other brands don’t work)
2 cups water: (You may want to adjust the amount of water to your liking and if you buy a different type of Bounty paper towel.)
1/4 teaspoon Basic H (BASIC H2® ORGANIC SUPER CLEANING CONCENTRATE)
Germicide Wipes
  • I like to keep these in the bathroom. It is great for quick easy clean ups.
  • I give them to the kids to wipe down the railings and door knobs.
  • I keep some in a zip lock to use on shopping carts and in public rest rooms.
1/2 roll of White Bounty Big Roll paper towels
2 Cups water
1/2 teaspoons of
Basic G
Baby Wipes
  • Safe for your babies bottom and cheaper also.
1/2 roll of White Bounty Big Roll paper towels
2 Cups water
1/2 Teaspoon
Gentle Wash
Hand Wipes
  • I use these sometimes for baby wipes, or for the kids hands and quick clean-ups.
1/2 roll of White Bounty Big Roll paper towels
2 Cups water
1 Tablespoon
Hand Wash Concentrate
Directions:

Add water and one of the above gentle cleaning agent into your container and stir gently.
Cut the roll of paper towels in half.
Place roll, cut side down into the mixture.
Cover and invert for several minutes.
Remove top, pull out the cardboard center and you are ready to pull the first one out of the center.

Do think this is something you would do and use?

  1. Thank you so much for posting this. I follow your blog, plus Beauty Blondie and House of Grace. You guys have inspired me so much, I am now a Shaklee member and love it. I have been so much more aware of our environment, home, eating and health. I have always used wipes like crazy, but dislike the price. And wasn't sure if I should use Basic G in my own wipes and didn't know how much to use. I also used to rip my Bounty paper towels piece by piece, then fold them flat into the container. Do you know how much longer that took? Your half paper towel, pull em out as you need em way is fantastic. And the video is so nice to see the instructions.
Thank you. I look forward to your posts and your daughters.

  3. This is great for my kids because, like their mama, they suffer from awful dry skin almost all year long. And finally, I love the fact that they are biodegradable. I always feel guilty when I reach for a Antibacterial Wipes to clean up my kids instead of a cloth, but this eliminates that guilt because they are environmentally friendly.

    1. For dry skin you do not want to be using antibacterial wipes this will dry them out even more and also kill the good bacteria on you skin. The Handy Wipes above would be good and I would recommend adding a little bit of Shaklee Baby Soothing Lotion for the dryness.
