Wellness Wednesday: State weighs ban on scents worn by state workers.

I am on a mission to help people live healthier. I truly believe that what we put into and on our bodies affects our health. Sometimes it may take years to see the long term effect. What we breath is also entering our bodies and could result in health problems.
I don’t know if I agree with this, but New Hampshire lawmakers are debating whether to ban the use of scented or fragrant soaps by state employees.

Valentine Meal for the Family

Happy Valentine’s Day!
My children really like to have meatloaf, so today I made 4 recipes, in two 9x13 pans and then used a cookie cutter to make it into heart shapes. The little ones loved it!

And as a special treat my girls made these cookies.

I thought this was so unusual. This heart shape was the only snow left on our patio. So I decided to make a Valentine out of it.

Here is the recipe for the meatloaf.

1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/4  cup chopped onions
2 eggs
3/4 cup milk
2 Tablespoons parsley
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground sage
Mix all together and bake for 1 1/4 hours then add the topping and serve.

Topping:
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
Combined and simmer in a pan for 10 minutes.

I hope you had a nice day.

What did you do special for your sweet hearts?

Basement Recliner Couches

A couple of weeks ago I posted about our family room and kitchen update and how we rearrange our furniture. I thought I would show you how we put the sectional couches from our family room into the basement. They are really comfortable and there are FOUR recliners. I really like recliners! This room looks like it is finished, but it is really not. The walls are cement with a stucco (I think? It came with the house. We were fortunate that it was partially finished.) on it and painted. There is no insulation and no electric on these walls and the carpet is just laid in down. Adding walls, electric and floors will be another project someday.

How to Paint Cabinets

Click Like us on Facebook now for more How-to projects and more!
Hi, everyone! I am excited to show you how painting cabinets could really update and change a look of a bathroom or even Kitchen. We have painted several cabinets, in the several homes, we have owned. I have a few pictures that I have to show. I lost a lot of the pictures when I got a new computer. I thought I saved all of them but I didn’t save the ones from a certain program that had a large amount of (project) pictures on it. :(
Here is a kitchen that we painted the cabinets and changed out the some of the other fixtures.

What we Eat in a Week

Our daughter, Bonnie, at House of Grace is hosting a link party for “What we Eat in a Week,'’  so I thought I would put together a list of what we (a family of 12) may eat for a week. This is a meal we had for our Christmas dinner. This was a special treat Doug's parent's bought for the family.

I wish I could tell you I have a weekly schedule, but I don’t. I do like to change up the type of food we are eating. Even if it is something we really like, we like to have a variety of foods.
