An Awesome Time in Texas with my Sisters!

Last week I spent 5 days at my sister’s house in Houston with all 8 of my sisters and 1 sister-in-law. We all missed our other two sister-in-laws. (Yes, my parents were parents of a dozen also.) Wow, what a week! We all took time out of our busy schedules to fly out of state to get together. Could you tell which one is the sister-in-law and me?

It has been years, if ever, that we were able to all spend some quality time together. We are so blessed that we were able to all get together and have some memorable time together (Thanks to my sister Ann for hosting all of us and to our hubbies for holding down the forts while we were gone).

We Laughed, Cried, Sang, Swam, Ate, and Drank and just had a blast.
A few of us went on a quick stay over trip to San Antonio, Texas a couple days before the others arrived.

The weather was beautiful and we had a great time. Have you ever been there? It is just beautiful day and night! The River Walk is awesome. Here are a couple of day shots.

Here we are enjoying a great meal together (We each took a turn, with another sister, creating and cooking a meal for everyone). The food was awesome!

This is just one of the main meals. Steamed spinach, grilled chicken breast, with goat cheese, sundried tomatoes all over rice. I will have to post the whole recipe. It was delicious!!!!

The weather was beautiful! We were able to relax by the pool and sit in their hot tub also.
We danced and sang to oldies like “Knock Three Times” by Tony Orlando and Dawn. (Does anyone remember that one?)
What a blast we had together!

When I got home, I started thinking about my future and how important my family, friends, health and our finances are to me. I want to be able to enjoy these types of moments with my family and friends for years to come. My husband and I took steps years ago to improve our relationship, our health, and our finances in hope of securing a brighter future together. I can tell you it’s not easy, but spending times together like the week with my sisters makes it all worth the time, effort, and money to make it possible.
My husband and I improved our relationship by spending more quality time together (date nights), we improved our health by living healthier, getting chemicals out of our home, taking supplements to nourish our bodies, and took the steps to get and remain debt free.
I can tell you, improving these areas of our lives have changed our life for the better.
I pray all my sisters and I could get together again some day.

  1. So glad you had a great time! When I visit family, I always come back feeling refreshed and fulfilled. We are also sprawled out, with a sister in California and my parents live in San Antonio. We love San Antonio! (especially when the weather is nice. After reading your post, I'm feeling a little homesick. Time to make some plans. Thank you for sharing, Sharon.

    1. Andrea,
I hope you get a chance to get together with your family soon. It was so nice to visit with mine. How long have your parents lived in San Antonio, and do they like it there?
