We had a surprise birthday party for our 16 year old daughter, done country style! We decorated for a country Shin Dig and used furniture and décor that we had around the house and have collected the last couple of months. We also rented straw bales and even had everyone dress in country attire. As I was adding pictures to show you and I realized it was going to be way too long so I decided to split this into three posts. Today I am going to show you our décor.
Our daughter used chalkboard paint and some unused picture fames to make some signs.
This is our photo booth and props.
This is our smore bar. (The chocolate was in the freezer for the day.)
Additional seating, cutely decorated, around the yard helped to complete the country look.
We had this bucket for the gift cards. How cute!
A little table for the kiddios.
I love my bow back chairs. I had most of these for almost 30 years, and they where old when I got them. My mother picked them up here and there for me.
We had candles in mason and jelly jars everywhere. It added to the nighttime atmosphere.
We had popcorn and peanuts for snacks placed in cute little buckets and baskets everywhere.
We cut flowers from our yard, put them in mason jars with burlap wrapped around the jar.
We had some country attire available for those who were not dressed appropriate.
This little rocking duck was my father-in-laws when he was a toddler.
We set up straw bales everywhere to add some country atmosphere.
We had straw bales with a borrowed fire pit for night time fun.
We also had many activities for everyone to join in on and have fun. We made this sign from an old pallet.
Our next post is going to be about all the activities we had available for our guests to have some good country fun. We will have a lot of fun pictures!
We are also going to post about some good old country food and have a recipe for some out of this world baked beans.
